‘Fall’ Into a Healthier Lifestyle

With the daily temperatures dropping, the sun setting earlier, and the holidays right around the corner we are probably all spending much less time outdoors. But this doesn’t mean that the extra ten pounds of winter weight gain are inevitable. Need some ideas of how to stay active during the chilly months to come?

  • Join a local gym
  • Go for a walk on your lunch break (the afternoon is the warmest time of the day)
  • Do jumping jacks, push-ups, and crunches during television commercials at home

Exercise isn’t the only thing we need to focus on this time of year either. Making healthy food choices is crucial to your overall health. It’s no secret that some of us have difficulty eating clean and healthy during the winter, so here’s a great chicken noodle soup recipe that is sure to keep you warm and happy this fall.

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup:

Serves: 6 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 cups sliced carrots
  • 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Oregano, Mediterranean
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Thyme
  • 1 leaf McCormick Gourmet Bay Leaves, Turkish
  • 4 cups Kitchen Basics® Original Chicken Stock
  • 1 cup uncooked medium egg noodles
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
