Break for Breakfast

Waking up early can be a harsh reality check after spending the summer lounging by the pool and enjoying warm fireside sunsets. After hitting snooze one too many times and trying on 10 different outfits, it’s easy to forget breakfast as you rush out the door. Knowing that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, take just a few minutes to eat something in the morning. It can really make a difference in your day!

TOP 3 REASONS YOU SHOULD BE EATING BREAKFAST

1. WEIGHT GAIN


In a study conducted by the American Journal of Epidemiology, those who skip breakfast regularly are 4.5 times more likely to be obese. Additionally, when you don’t eat breakfast, you’re more likely to make poor choices. When you’re starving, it’s much harder to resist a chocolate chip cookie at lunchtime.

2. ENERGY
 

When you skip your morning meal, your body is running on empty. If you don’t refuel, you will be “hangry” and exhausted. On the other hand, eating a breakfast high in fiber and carbohydrates will energize you for the day!

3. IMPROVED COGNITION
 

Being hungry will do more than just cause your stomach to growl. Hunger negatively affects mood, concentration and alertness. On the other hand, eating breakfast improves memory and problem solving skills.
