Beef Has Entered the Chat: Nearly 3 in 4 Americans Either Serve or Would Consider Beef for Christmas Dinner, New Redner’s/Harris Poll Finds

Reading, Pa., December 16, 2025 – Move over turkey and ham, beef has officially been invited to the holiday party. According to new survey data from The Harris Poll conducted on behalf of Redner’s Markets, more than half of Americans who don’t typically serve beef as a main dish for Christmas dinner (54%) say they would consider it, suggesting that the traditional holiday menu may be due for a glow-up.

The survey results suggest beef could be gaining momentum at the holiday table. Already, 2 out of 5 Americans (43%) serve beef as a main dish for Christmas dinner, and among those who do, many say it is because they’re looking for a break from the usual holiday meat options (44%) or find beef easy to prepare (39%). For those who do not serve beef as a main dish for Christmas dinner cost (27%), a break from traditional meats (22%) and convenience (19%) matter when considering beef.

That’s where Redner’s Markets is stepping in this season. By keeping a pulse on evolving consumer preferences, the family-owned grocer is introducing its Bone-In Strip Roast as a fresh take on a holiday classic. The cut offers rich flavor and tenderness at a price point and prep level that works for busy holiday hosts.

Available now through Christmas at all Redner’s Warehouse Markets and Fresh Markets, the Bone-In Strip Roast makes it easy for shoppers to bring something different to the holiday table while keeping those familiar holiday flavors. To help home cooks feel confident bringing beef to the table, Redner’s has also created a dedicated resource hub at rednersmarkets.com/steaks, featuring cooking tips and preparation guidance designed to make hosting easier and more stress-free. 

The Redner’s/Harris Poll findings reflect a broader shift in how Americans approach holiday gatherings: fewer hard rules, more flexibility, and a growing appetite for variety. As families across the country look for new ways to celebrate together, beef is increasingly earning a seat at the table. 

Survey Method 

This survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Redner’s from October 2-6, 2025, among 2,093 adults ages 18 and older. The sampling precision of Harris online polls is measured by using a Bayesian credible interval.
