Redner's Announces New Store in Bel Air, Md. - 1/31/08

Reading, Pa. -  With successful stores opened in the Elkton and Joppatowne and plans for a new location in Chestertown, ceo Richard Redner has announced plans to open a new warehouse market in Bel Air, Maryland this summer 2008. This addition will be Redner's 3rd store in Maryland since the Elkton market opened in 2005.

The Bel Air Warehouse Market will be located in the Hickory Village Shopping Center, Harford County. Renovations to the exiting building are slated to begin immediately and to be conducted entirely by Redner's Markets. The building was erected in 1999 by another grocery retailer but never occupied. The store will measure approximately 52,000 square feet upon completion. SEL Property Management of Jarrettsville owns the shopping center.

Bel Air's new Warehouse Market will be a full service grocery store offering services such as; in-store bakery, full-service deli, produce and meat departments, along with frozen, dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods, pharmacy and grocery departments. New to Redner's format will be the introduction of a full-service seafood department. For the consumer's added convenience, the store will feature UScan Check-Out Terminals. Each UScan terminal includes self-checkout software and ATM-type technology that allow shoppers to pay with either cash, credit or debit card. Customer's can also use coupons and receive cash back from their transactions. At full operating conditions, this store will employ approximately 120 people in both full and part-time positions.

Redner's Markets, Inc., an employee owned company, currently operates 39 Warehouse Markets and 12 Quick Shoppes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland.  Redner's is committed to supporting the community in which each Warehouse Market and Quick Shoppe is located through a variety of supportive partnerships and enrichment programs.  Redner's continually strives to provide the lowest prices, freshest product and the outstanding service our customers have come to expect for 38 years.
