- Company officials have announced the closing of Redner's Warehouse Market in Lancaster. Opened in 1993, the store is located within Hawthorne Centre at 2074 Fruitville Pike and will close at 5 pm on January 12, 2008. All full and part time employees (61) will be given assignments at other Redner's locations within the region. "This store has been underperforming for many years and we could not justify any further investments in its future. We feel that closure was the best option as we focus our energies on stores with positive growth and our expansion into new markets," said Ryan Redner, chief operating officer. Hawthorne Center is owned by Hawthorne Centre Associates, LP a subsidiary to Burkwood Associates of Lancaster. The location's lease will be assigned to Giant Food Stores, LLC of Carlisle.
