Reading,
Pa. - Redner's Markets has completed its fundraising program for the
American Red Cross and its 2005 Hurricane Relief Efforts by collecting $56,252.
The donation is the culmination of an intense, in-store fundraising program held
at all Warehouse Markets and Quick Shoppes in Eastern Pennsylvania and New York
during September. The funds will be
donated to benefit the ongoing relief efforts being conducted in gulf coast
states ravaged by the hurricanes of 2005.
Following the tragic events of
hurricanes Katrina & Rita, Redner's called upon customers and employee
owners to help raise funds to benefit relief efforts in these areas.
Throughout September Redner's collected donations, through the sale of
American Red Cross paper wall hangers for $1.00, in all stores to generate much
needed funds for ongoing relief efforts.
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian
organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the
Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide
relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond
to emergencies. For more information about the American Red Cross programs and
services, contact the Berks County Chapter at 610-375-4383 or visit www.berks.redcross.org.
