January 13, 2005 - Redner's Markets, Inc. Announces New Warehouse Markets In Berks and Lehigh Counties

Reading, Pa. - Redner's Warehouse Markets is growing again!  Company officials are excited to announce the addition of two new locations to open in 2005.  New stores will be located in Hamburg, Berks County and Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.  The addition of these stores will be Redner's Warehouse Markets 49th and 50th stores in Eastern Pennsylvania and New York.

      The Hamburg Warehouse Market will be located in the Hamburg Commons Shopping Center.  Construction on the building is slated to begin January 2005.  The new location will be at 4th Street and State Route 61 and is planned to open in June of 2005.  The store will be in the site previously occupied by an Ames department store and will measure approximately 56,000 square feet upon completion.  The shopping center's owner is Cedar Shopping Centers of Port Washington, New York with construction being performed by SMJ Construction of Douglassville.  The addition of this location will be the 10th Warehouse Market located in Berks County, home of Redner's Markets, Inc.'s headquarters.

    Lehigh Country will see its fourth Warehouse Market to be in Whitehall Township at the Whitehall Square Shopping Center located on MacArthur Road and Presidential Drive.  Construction on this location is scheduled to begin in May 2005 and will be a demolition of the former Drug Emporium location.  When completed, this store will be approximately 52,000 square feet and is tentatively scheduled to open in November 2005.  Kramont Realty Trust of Plymouth Meeting owns the shopping center with construction being performed by SMJ Construction of Douglassville.

   Both Warehouse Markets will be full service grocery stores offering services such as; in-store bakery, full-service deli, fresh produce, meat and seafood departments, along with frozen, dairy, health and beauty aids/non-foods and grocery departments.  For the consumer's added convenience, each store will feature Self Check-Out Terminals (S.C.O.T). Each S.C.O.T. includes self-checkout software and ATM-type technology that allow shoppers to pay with cash, credit or debit card.  They can even use coupons and receive cash back from their transactions.  At full operating conditions, these stores will employ approximately 150 people in both full and part-time positions.
