January 9, 2005 - Redner's Markets Announces Fundraising Campaign To Benefit Tsunami Disaster Relief Efforts

Reading, Pa. - Redner's Markets, Inc. has announced the kick-off of a four-week fundraising campaign that will provide a monetary donation for tsunami disaster efforts currently being conducted by the American Red Cross.  The program has been initiated by company officials in response to the drastic need for relief in areas affected by the tsunamis.  Redner's feels this program will be an excellent opportunity for its consumers to assist in the worldwide relief efforts currently underway.

All Redner's Warehouse Markets and Quick Shoppes will be offering consumers the opportunity to donate towards relief efforts beginning January 9 and concluding on February 5.  Customers will be able to write a short message or their name on a Red Cross card for a $1 donation, which will be hung throughout the store.  Consumers will also be able to drop their loose change into donation buckets that will be available at the store's cash registers.

Redner's will present the donation on behalf if its customers to the American Red Cross' International Response Fund.  This fund is being used to provide relief to tsunami stricken areas.  Monetary donations allow the American Red Cross to purchase relief items in the region, eliminating the added costs of shipment and transport from the U.S.  In addition, cash ensures the acquisition of culturally appropriate goods and helps to stimulate local economies.

Redner's currently operates 37 Warehouse Markets and 11 Quick Shoppes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and New York.  Redner's Markets Inc. is committed to working within the community where each Warehouse Market and Quick Shoppe is located.  Redner's continually strives to provide the lowest prices, freshest product and the outstanding service our customers have come to expect over the past 35 years.
