Reading, Pa. - It has
always been a high standard for Redner's to give back to the communities that
our company and store's are a part of. Either
through our community fundraisers or our 1% Save-A-Tape program, Redner's is
committed to providing assistance to our employees and customer's communities.
In the aftermath of the attacks on America September 11, 2001 in New York
City, Washington D.C. and Somerset County, Pa., Redner's has been raising
funds in all Warehouse Markets and Quick Shoppes to benefit the American Red
Cross Disaster Relief Liberty Fund. After
a meeting of the company's Board of Directors, Redner's decided to go above
and beyond their current fund raising and establish one day in which a large
donation would be added to the current efforts. Thursday, October 18, 2001 has been established as American
Red Cross day at all Redner's Markets and will donate 5% of the day's sales
to the Disaster Relief Liberty Fund. Redner's
is encouraging all of it's customers to come out on the 18th and
make a purchase no matter how big or small it may be, so that we can help
America return to a state of normalcy.
Currently, customers can purchase $1.00 flags and donate loose funds to
the American Red Cross. When a flag
is purchased, the customer can write their name or a message on it and have it
hung throughout the store or they may take it with them to display in their
home, car or place of work. Employees
are also being encouraged to make donations towards this cause.
Each store manager is collecting funds on a daily basis from their store
associates to add to this growing fund.
Redner's is confident that through the continued support of our
customers and employees we will be able to help the victims of 9/11/01 overcome
and rebuild. God Bless America.
