September 29, 2001 - Redner's Markets Invites Easton/Palmer Township to Visit It's Newest Supermarket

Reading, Pa. - Redner's Warehouse Markets is ready to open it's 43rd store in Palmer Township on Wednesday, October 3, 2001.  The store is located at 3745 Nicholas St. Easton, Pa. 18042.

There will be an open house on Tuesday, October 2, from 6 - 9:00 p.m. for the community to browse through, meet Redner's employees and sample many different foods.  Members of Redner's corporate and store staff will be on hand to introduce themselves to the community and answer any questions the public may have.  The store will open for business on Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m.

This new store will be 69,135 square feet, making it the largest store in the chain and features many new amenities such as an Italian Sub-Shoppe/wing bar, expanded dairy and frozen food departments and an extensive fresh seafood department.  The variety of items in the frozen department will be triple the size of the previous tenant and offering a larger variety of products. This store will also have a dining area located next to the Italian Sub Shoppe.  The grocery department will be a little different from other Warehouse Markets, featuring new, user-friendly aisles with an emphasis on easier customer navigation.  The grocery department will feature a larger variety of items and an expanded selection of items, more than doubling the size of this department.  This location will also include the traditional in-store bakery, produce, deli, meat, health/beauty aids, and nonfood departments for one stop shopping.

Redner's will bring 150 jobs to the Easton area, with an emphasis on the employee stock program.  A unique aspect about Redner's Markets, Inc. is that it is an employee owned company.  Redner's currently employs 3,200 people.  Being a locally owned company, Redner's strongly believes in giving back to the community.  Redner's annually works with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, U.S.M.C.R. Toys-For-Tots program and thousands of local organizations such as Lions Clubs, churches and fire companies.  Donations are currently being accepted with the proceeds being given to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund in New York City.
