On Sunday, May 7, 2000 Redner's Markets Inc. culminated it's month long National Multiple Sclerosis Society fund raising program by taking part in the MS Walk 2000 at various sites in Berks and Lehigh Counties. Stores in Lancaster and Luzerne counties took part in walks held on April 9, 2000.
Throughout the program Redner's sold MS Walk 2000 sneakers in all of it's 41 stores and collected loose change in Eastern Pennsylvania and New York. Redner's total contribution of $83,600.00 was given to the National MS Society on the day of the Walk for Berks and Lehigh Counties. This beat the original goal by over $23,000.00!
All proceeds collected for The National MS Society go to various programs dedicated to research, counseling and support groups utilized by those with MS. Redner's would like to thank all of it's valued customer's, employees, and vendors who helped to make this program a great success in 2000. With such awesome support, like that received this year, we will find a cure to this disease and ultimately triumph over it.
