Basil Tomato and Mozzarella Salad

Ingredients

1/2 lb fresh mozzarella, sliced a bit thinner than the tomatoes
12 whole basil leaf, rolled together and sliced
1/4 whole sweet onion, cut in very thin wedges
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 whole tomatoes, thick sliced

Preparation

Place the tomatoes and mozzarella on a platter in a circle. Place first a slice of tomato, then a slice of mozzarella, then tomato, and so on.

Drizzle the basil and onion over the tomatoes and mozzarella.

Drizzle with good olive oil, then with a light drizzle of balsamic vinegar.

Sprinkle lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
